Targeted segmentation and clean contact data are critical to outbound campaign success. This guide explains how to format your contact files, import custom attributes for dynamic personalization, and leverage built-in hygiene safeguards.
SkySenders supports importing lead lists via standard CSV files. Ensure your file is saved with UTF-8 encoding and includes standard header names:
email (Required for Email): The recipient's primary business email address.
linkedin_profile_url (Required for LinkedIn): The lead's public LinkedIn profile URL (e.g. https://linkedin.com/in/alexsmith).
first_name & last_name: Recipient's given and family names for personalization.
company_name: The lead's organization name.
job_title: The lead's current position.
website: Company website domain.
Beyond standard fields, you can include any custom column in your CSV. SkySenders will create dynamic merge tags that can be inserted anywhere in your sequence copy:
industry: -> {{industry}} (e.g. B2B SaaS)
tech_stack: -> {{tech_stack}} (e.g. PostgreSQL, React)
recent_funding: -> {{recent_funding}} (e.g. Series B)
custom_hook: -> {{custom_hook}} (e.g. loved your recent post on AI)
💡 Tip: Always provide a fallback value in your sequence templates using the format {{firstName | 'there'}} so that missing fields never result in empty gaps in your emails.
Navigate to Lists: Go to Outreach > Contacts & Lists > Lists and click Create List.
Upload CSV: Drag and drop your CSV file into the upload modal.
Map Columns: Review the column mapping preview. SkySenders will automatically match standard fields. For custom columns, select Create Custom Attribute.
Confirm Import Job: Click Import. SkySenders processes the list asynchronously in the background.
Deduplication: SkySenders detects duplicate email addresses and LinkedIn URLs, ensuring prospects are not contacted twice in the same list.
Workspace Suppression: Incoming contacts are automatically matched against your Workspace Suppression List. Unsubscribed leads or domains of existing clients and competitors are automatically excluded.
Invalid Email Scrubbing: Previously hard-bounced addresses across any campaign in your workspace are flagged to protect sender reputation.
